Something has crossed my mind, re: respect

As I was pondering again nothing to do... an event caught my mind when I was in my post college days. Well this is due to the fact that I was responding to my sms and very politely saying po and opo to elders. (this is how we show respect in answering back people older that us in the phil). My prof asked me to research on a topic about students of the 21st century. at that time I rarely go to comp shops and I don't know how to surf and search after asking and pestering classmates and shop operators I got around and learned. Only to find out that there are a little resources written and published about my topic.

To make the long story short... on my report I mentioned that the students of the 21st century has become the ambassadors of their own countries. Why??? because they are able to make and meet friends with different countries and exchange information about their country and culture and promote the beauty of their land. They are able to impart the values and beliefs they practice and norms of people in which country they are in. Technology has played a crucial part in these exchange of information and these has become a great tool for education. Yes, as older or shall I say more mature person that I am now, and a future educator someday if I want to pursue these subject. It is not a hindrance for us its a challenge to step up and learn these new things at hand to enhance our knowledge and keep up with the changing times. Nowadays, information and technology changes fast, I wouldn't want to left in dazed and let the days past without learning new things and enriching my knowledge. As an educator it is our duty to be one step up and imbibe the trends. More or less that what's on my report.

What prompted me to write this? Nothing, I was like amazed of the things and values that are not being forgotten BY SOME young people like saying thank you and PO OPO OHO in our native tongue of course. Even with these modern technology at hand, some parents and of course the education system instill in their children the value of being Filipino. (Hey I'm not saying if you don't practice this your not a Filipino already). My take is that this values nowadays are slowly fading. And that children are more adept in western culture and I don't know maybe because of those things they do. But kids nowadays is still very respectful in a more modernized way of course. The Values are still there in a new mode at that hahaha.

May say on these don't forget your roots and whatever you do RESPECT one another or everyone is important thing. Though you've become techy, geeky, modernized or westernized. RESPECT everyone around you.
