Have you seen the news lately? Meralco is being summoned by the senate and the congress to shed light into the exuberant charges they collected for their services. Grabe ! those charges are really way too high. It's about time our goverment officials look into their scrupulous operations. Millions of Filipino will benefit out of this investigation( I just hope that our assemblymen won't be bought).
Anyway in my own opinion the clamor of the people for the removal of the system loss charge are valid. Why will we pay for the electricity that was not used by a consumer due to extreme heat or was stolen from them. As I understand a company is the one who safeguards its goods so that theft and waste are eliminated or controlled? But why is meralco passing down its losses to the consumers? They are the ones to blame for such losses not the consumers. Meralco should have had researched on how to optimize their system for such things and they should have measures to control those individuals who steals from them. They're only concern is how to fatten their wallets.
May take on these is that I hope that the matter be resolved and we will enjoy lower energy rates and the issue do not die down because of another goverment controversy or be upstaged by such hooplah. I hope that our legislators will be vigillant for the good of all people. Hey prices are going up right now and life is hard it would be a great relief if those people contributing to the hardship of the masses be lessen. It's one step towards having a good standard of living.
